Abstract
Cigarette butts represent a serious environmental and economic problem worldwide. Despite their small size, these tiny fragments of waste have a significant impact on ecosystems and the global economy. This article examines the environmental impact of cigarette butts, including their contribution to water pollution, the release of toxic substances, and their effect on wildlife. In addition, the economic costs associated with the management and cleanup of this waste are addressed, as well as public health expenditures derived from problems related to smoking. The need to take action to address this problem is highlighted, including the implementation of waste management policies and public awareness of the negative impacts of cigarette butts.
