Abstract

Solar energy, a clean and renewable source, has acquired increasing importance in the search for sustainable alternatives to satisfy our energy needs. Within this category, vacuum tube solar heaters are efficient technologies to raise home water temperature. However, its optimal performance is intrinsically linked to correct installation. This essay explores the crucial relevance of proper installation in reducing failures in this type of technology. From location to precise alignment, they play a critical role in maximizing solar radiation harvesting, optimizing heat transfer, and ultimately ensuring the long-term reliability of these systems. After inspecting 30 facilities in various locations in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca and a detailed statistical analysis, it has been confirmed that 100% had one installation failure, 40% had two failures, and 10% had three failures. Attention to these details would not only boost energy efficiency but also contribute to the durability and sustainability of the technology, marking a significant step towards a cleaner, more environmentally friendly energy future.
